On March 21, in Thessaloniki was held World Championship of IFK – the Kyokushin Karate Federation – for juniors and cadets. The team of the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation was presented by seven participants: Anna Bondareva, Valeria Lozanova, Georgi Ivanov, Lachezar Palachorov, Stilian Iliev, Aysun Adem and Ia Kostova. The team was led by Stanislav Dimitrov.

Valeria Lozanova from SC Nadezhda – Gabrovo town became world champion among the 14-15 years old, category under 45 kg. For her, it’s second world title. She won her first title during the WC in Moscow in December, organized by Kyokushin Kan Federation. Among the cadets – 18-20 years old – Aysun Adem from SC Kyokushin – Shumen city won the bronze medal. The competitors of IFK Bulgaria Mishel Danova, Hristo Iliev and Tsvetelin Spasov won three bronze medals.

The competition was strong and spectacular. The Russians managed to win gold medals in most categories. The Bulgarian team was presented on club level without the participation of the juniors national team, who was resting after the good performance in Germany and before their participation in the upcoming European Championship.
